Onitsha-Ado North England Support (OANES) is the charity arm of the Onitsha-Ado North England (OANE) Association that was created to focus solely on charity works of the association.
The Charity is funded by the Association, investments and funds raised by the Charity itself and through funding support from donor organisations and well meaning people.The motto of the association is oganiru na ifunnaya (which literally means Progress and Love)
The main aim of the Charity is to promote cultural interaction and integration within our host communities through our charity works. The specific objectives of the charity, in no particular order, include the following:
- To promote citizenship, arts, culture, health, and social welfare by organising seminars, conferences, and workshops for public benefits.
- To promote arts, cultural heritage and enhance intercultural integration of people from various cultural backgrounds through projects, festivals, and cultural events.
- To advance social participation, personal and community development through cultural education and lifelong learning programmes.
- To provide platforms via classroom and social media for multicultural education and awareness.
- To provide funding and scholarships that promote multicultural education, health, and social welfare programmes.
- To provide support to other charities, organisations, and communities home and abroad through collaborations, volunteer programmes and donations
